Sandwich Fair

Had a great day yesterday in Sandwich, IL. Yes, it's a real name of a real town. It's just west of Plano, IL. So first is Plano then Sandwich. Sorry, I just couldn't stop myself. But if you have a fishing tackle box or an EMT box it was probably made in Plano so you'll know I'm not kidding. Sandwich has the final fair in the state every year beginning the week after Labor Day. It's one of the best if not the best in the state. Lots of farm animals and farm equipment to browse thru, a carnival, lots of great food all on acres of trees and fresh air. This year we were blessed to have the friend that started us going to the fair accompany us with his new friend. He lost his wife about two and a half years ago and has just started dating. I'm sure all four of us were a little stressed but she's a very nice lady and her and I got along just fine. We went off by ourselves while the guys perused the Sandwich two stroke engines and the farm equipment and old tractors and what ever else "guys do". I can't finish this blog without mentioning the great pork chops we get every time from Fay's Pork. It's always in the same place....it's always busy....and the food is always great......but the one thing that never changes but could is the lemonade....it's always terrible....
